Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use Uplink Web Services we collect:

• Account info — name, business name, email, phone, ABN (if provided)
• Billing info — handled by Stripe, our payment processor; we don't store card numbers
• Operational data — server logs, error reports, usage metrics on hosted services we provide
• Communications — emails, support tickets, and notes from calls

Why we collect it

To deliver the service you've signed up for, to bill you correctly, to support you when something goes wrong, and to improve our products. We don't profile you, and we don't run ad tracking on our own properties.

Where your data is stored

We run our services on managed infrastructure in more than one location:

• Web hosting, managed WordPress (WPresskit) and email run on servers located in Australia (Sydney).
• Our platform services — customer accounts, ShopKit stores and Clubkit sites run on managed servers located overseas (including within the Asia-Pacific region). That infrastructure is operated for us by our hosting provider under contract: they store the data on our instructions and are not permitted to access or use it for their own purposes.

Some providers we rely on to operate the business also store a subset of data outside Australia under their own privacy terms — for example our payment processor (Stripe) and our email-delivery providers.

Overseas storage and disclosure. Because some of your personal information is stored or processed outside Australia, this is an overseas disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8. We take reasonable steps to ensure each overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles — including through contractual protections with our infrastructure and service providers — and this does not reduce your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we share it with

Nobody, except where required to deliver the service (Stripe for payments and our email-delivery providers, some of whom are located overseas as noted above) or where compelled by Australian law. We never sell your data.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you can ask us at any time:

• What we hold about you
• To correct it if wrong
• To delete it (where we're not required by law to retain it)
• To export it
