Acceptable Use Policy

The short version
Don't host or send anything illegal under Australian law. Don't host or send anything that materially harms people. Don't spam. Don't use our infrastructure to attack other people's infrastructure. If you breach this we'll suspend your service with notice where practical.
Specifically prohibited
- Content that's illegal under Australian law (child sexual abuse material, terrorism content, content that incites violence, content that breaches court orders)
- Phishing, malware distribution, or content designed to deceive or harm
- Unsolicited bulk email (spam), or sending email in a way that breaches the Spam Act 2003
- Network attacks (port scanning, DDoS, brute-force login attempts) against any target, including from within our network
- Cryptocurrency mining on shared hosting plans (resource abuse)
- Open relays, open SMTP, open proxies
- Material that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights
- Content or business activities that breach Australian consumer protection law
How we enforce
We monitor for abuse signals (Spamhaus listings, malware reports, AUP-breach reports from third parties). If your account triggers any of these:
- We notify you by email immediately and ask you to resolve within 48 hours
- If unresolved or recurring, we suspend the affected service
- For serious or imminent harm (e.g. active phishing, active spam outbreak), we may suspend immediately and notify you after
Suspended services can be restored once the breach is resolved. Repeated breaches may result in account termination.
Reporting abuse
If you've identified abuse from a site or email account hosted by us, email abuse@uplink.net.au with details. We respond to abuse reports within one business day.
